Science has only scratched the surface of Australia’s biodiversity. Of an estimated 580,000 to 680,000 species, three-quarters remain entirely unidentified. With 45 per cent of the continent and over 90 per cent of our marine areas yet to be comprehensively surveyed, countless plants and animals are just waiting to be discovered.

Since 2010, Bush Blitz (Australia’s largest nature discovery program) has discovered more than 1700 new species and has added thousands of species records to what is already known, increasing our scientific knowledge to help us protect our biodiversity for generations to come.
